EKTA Dance Productions hosts a variety of events each year from team tryouts to dance workshops to fund-raisers to competition trips. For more information about a specific event, contact the EKTA eBoard. (ekta-board@case.edu)

General Body Meetings

EKTA will strive to have at least two general body meetings per semester in order to outline our progress and plans to the general body. We feel it is very important for our body members to participate in the preparation and execution of our events. In addition, general body meetings will serve as location for our executive and junior board elections.

Team Tryouts/Team Practices

Choreographers will hold tryouts for their teams at the beginning of each school year (usually late August/early September). Be sure to check this website for specific dates and times in addition to adding yourself to the ektabody mailing list. For more specific information, contact the respective choreographers or captains of each team.

Team Practices are usually closed events unless open to the public by choreographers in order to receive feedback and critique on the team’s performance and choreography.

Fundraisers

Since EKTA strives to provide opportunities and tools for their own competitive dance teams, fund-raisers are crucial to the success of our organization. In the past, we have run fundraisers with Qdoba and Wackadoo’s/Jolly Scholar and benefited significantly from these events. Come out and support EKTA Dance Productions at these fundraising events!

Dance Workshops

Dance workshops are one of the ways in which EKTA Dance Productions plans on giving back to the Cleveland community. We plan on running three different workshops multiple times a year. Dance workshops will allow students to learn the latest bhangra moves or the newest garba variation or a routine from a popular bollywood segment. In addition, it will allow our choreographers to seek out and train future team members. More information will be available at a later date.

Competition Trips

As an organization that caters to the needs of our competitive teams, we recognize the need of our teams to have friends accompany them on trips to various intercollegiate competitions. EKTA Dance Productions will try to make the process of setting up transportation, booking hotel rooms and purchasing show and afterparty tickets as convenient as possible. More information will be available as our teams get accepted to collegiate competitions.
